TL;DR: How to Recover from Google Algorithm Updates
Google announced five core updates and five spam updates between March 2025 and October 2026, each with start and end dates on its Search Status Dashboard. A drop during one of them doesn’t automatically mean your site is bad. Wait until the rollout ends plus a week, compare the same days before and after in Search Console, rule out manual actions and technical faults, then improve the pages that actually lost, for readers rather than for the algorithm. Google says recovery can take several months, sometimes until the next core update.
