TL;DR: What do the numbers in Anthropic's public S-1 tell founders?
On 26 October 2026, Anthropic filed its public S-1 to list on Nasdaq under the ticker ANT. It made $16.3 billion in revenue in the first half of 2026, up from $1.2 billion, and more than 11,900 customers now pay it $100,000 or more a year, up from more than 950. The filing also says "a significant portion" of its customers are startups and tech companies that may cut spending in a downturn, that newer models cut the cost per task by about 25% to 40%, and that Anthropic has committed to more than $400 billion of compute and data-centre payments (our sum of the S-1 figures). For founders on Claude, that adds up to a supplier that needs your usage, will keep cutting prices to win it, and can't afford to lose you to cheaper models.
